How to plan your class reunion in Flint – The Basics

Whether this is your first time planning your class reunion, or you have been “One of the One’s” since graduating high school, these basics can help you and your team during the process.

  1. “Your Team” – Don’t try to do this by yourself. That date always comes fast, having a team, sharing responsibility and working together is a recipe for success. Common Team members:
    • Organizer
    • Treasurer
    • Communications Lead/Team
    • Note: Many times the “President” is the organizer. All of these positions can and probably should be teams. Include, or reach out to others, invite people to participate along the way.
  2. Pick a Date
    • Will the reunion coincide with an anual event?
    • Do you want to include other classes?
    • Do you want to include other schools?
    • Once you have a date, its good to have targets for items like venues, commitments, ticket sales, and final head count to name a few.
  3. Set a budget
    • Is this a big year (5, 10, 25?)
    • How was last year, do you want to do more or less ?
    • How is the economy, what makes sense to expect and target for each classmate ?
  4. Announce the date and find your classmates
    • The combination of Facebook Groups and/or Websites often works well
    • Ask people to pass it on, and start a new thread for this year (you can start that here !)
    • Ask everyone to pass the word, we want to make sure those who are not “online” often know as soon as possible
  5. Promote the Date
    • Once your year knows you are having the reunion and when, its good to that others know so they can join !
